I am a full professor in the Department of Vernacular Letters (DLEV) and a permanent member of the Postgraduate Program in Letters (PPGL) of the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and a permanent member of the Postgraduate Program in Letters of the Federal University of Roraima (PPGL-UFRR). I completed a Postdoctoral Internship in the Postgraduate Program in Letters (PPGL/UFS), and I have a PhD in Linguistics and Portuguese Language (UNESP-FCLAR), a Master’s degree in Linguistics (UFC), a Master’s degree in Hispanic Philology (CSIC, Spain / Title recognized by the University of São Paulo) and a degree in Letters-Portuguese/Spanish and Literatures (UFC). I am the deputy head of DLEV-UFS (2023/2024 and 2025/2026) and coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Letters/Portuguese – EAD/CESAD (2024/2026). I am a full member of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC); of the Brazilian Association of Linguistics (ABRALIN), where I am a member and chair the Historical Linguistics Commission; of the International Association of Portuguese Linguistics (AILP); of the Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors (ABEC); and of the Northeast Linguistics Studies Group (GELNE). I am a member of the Laboratory of Digital Humanities and Terminological Documentation (LADOC-UFS), the Imprimatur Laboratory (LABIM-UFRR), and the Center for Sociolinguistic Studies and Research of Roraima (NEPSol-UFRR).I am a CNPQ research fellow. I am a corresponding member of the Observatorio Permanente del Hispanismo, linked to the Fundación Duques de Soria (Spain), and a full member of the Cátedra Marquês de Pombal (UFS-Instituto Camões/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Portugal). I am currently studying the Portuguese of Roraima (social history, editing of documentary sources, lexicon and linguistic variation) and the history of linguistic contact between Portuguese and Spanish (16th-19th centuries) in Brazil.
