Markus Arnold est Associate Professor à l’Université de Cape Town. Ses intérêts couvrent les littératures comparées et francophones du Sud, notamment l’océan Indien, la théorie postcoloniale, les rapports texte-image. Parmi ses publications, l’on compte la monographie La littérature mauricienne contemporaine (Lit, 2017), les ouvrages codirigés L’image et son dehors (PUPPA, 2017) et Borders and Ecotones in the Indian Ocean (PULM, 2020), et un numéro spécial codirigé sur les manifestes littéraires et artistiques africains (FSSA 51.1, 2021). Il est rédacteur de la revue French Studies in Southern Africa.
