The University of Potsdam invites applications for the following professorship: At the Faculty of Arts, Institute of Romance Studies for a

Junior Professorship (W 1) for Cultural Semiotics and Cultures of Romance Countries (Tenure Track)

to be filled immediately. The applicant is expected to cover the field of Cultural Semiotics in its whole range within the context of the interdisciplinary master´s programs at the Department of Romance Studies. The focus of teaching and research should be on the application of theories of cultural semiotics, preferably in Romance countries (French-speaking countries, Italy and Spanish-speaking countries).

The tasks connected to the position include the organization of internships and e-learning units for the culture-semiotic master programs in cooperation with the Universities of Passau and Turin and the contribution to the establishment of a Centre of Cultural Semiotics.

The hiring process is subject to the requirements set forth in Section 45 of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG). The appointment procedure shall be conducted in accordance with Section 40 BbgHG.
