Coding Gender in Romance Cultures (CGR). Festkolloquium zur Eröffnung des Interdisziplinären Forschungsseminars an der Universität Leipzig
Stadt: Leipzig
Beginn: 2014-05-29
Ende: 2014-05-31
The international and interdisciplinary research seminar “Coding Gender in Romance Cultures” (CGR), recently founded at the Institute of Romance Studies, serves to promote academic works in the field of gender research and contributes to the visibility of Leipzig University’s gender profile. As a privileged research area for the negotiation of historical and contemporary gender technologies, the audiovisual media (e.g. cinema, theatre/opera, TV) constitute the focal point of the project.
For the official opening, we have invited our national and international collaborators to present their research areas, ranging from the Neapolitan opera to modern cinema and contemporary popular culture and covering conceptions of femininity and masculinity in the fields of Romance (French and Francophone, Italian, Spanish and Latin American), Theatre, English and American Studies as well as Musicology.
