Workshop Organized by Lena Seauve (LAI, FU Berlin)

The phenomenon of a European, even global New Right Movement which is interconnected despite regional differences and invokes a common school of thought, has been pushing more and more into the center of public perception for several years.
The workshop will examine fictional representations and imaginaries of the global phenomenon of the New Right in Europe and Latin America, and will highlight differences and similarities. One of the central questions to be addressed is the role played by (revisionist) discourses of memory with regard to (post)fascist, populist or colonial traditions of thought in fictional representations of a global New Right.
