Am 12.12.2024 findet der Workshop “Intervention Studies on Pedagogical Construction Grammar in Foreign Language Teaching” am Romanischen Seminar der Universität Tübingen statt (Wilhelmstr. 50 in Raum 215).

“This workshop focuses on intervention studies that examine the effectiveness of pedagogical construction grammar in foreign language teaching (De Knop & Gilquin, 2016; Boas, 2022). According to this linguistic approach, our linguistic knowledge consists of form-meaning pairs situated along a lexicon-grammar continuum (Goldberg, 2006), challenging the notion of an innate universal grammar (Chomsky, 1957). Consequently, foreign language learning is conceptualized as a dynamic process of “construction learning” (Boas, 2022b) that takes place in concrete communicative situations. Special emphasis will be placed during the workshop on the exchange of ideas regarding the opportunities and challenges of intervention studies in authentic foreign language teaching."
